KATE MIDDLETON FEVER

OK it's official i am completley obsessed with Kate Middleton. The world watched as she tied the knot yesterday with Prince William. The focus being THAT dress. It was perfection, designed by the now legendry Sarah Burton. She followed that by another stuning fairytale dress for the evening reception, also designed by Burton. To my amazment we've just got pictures of the Duchess leaving for her honeymoon looking flawless, despite partying till the early hours in a stunning royal blue pleated summer dress. Her style really is feminine and classic. Get a kate-a-like vintage items as there are some amazing pieces floating around on Etsy. Move fast though i suspect they won't be around for long.

RED HEAD

I'm sat here with a head full of blood red hair dye, praying it'll come out RED RED. But i know deep down it'll just be red-ish. I refuse to bleach my hair because im scared therefore i'll never look like this ...

DON'T KEEP ME HANGIN' ON THE TELEPHONE

I love it when the postman comes and brings me a parcel because nine times out of ten i've forgotten what it is i've bought and it's always a suprise. I had wiped my memory of buying a lip shaped telephone! It arrived this morning and i've stuck it straight on Etsy, otherwise i'll keep it! Vintage phones are so much cuter than regular modern ones. Check out my cute lip shaped one and these other funky retro phones.

EASTER BUNNIES AND CHOCOLATE EGGS

YAY it's almost easter! One of my favourite holidays, given the vast amount of chocolate that is involved. What i've noticed over the past few days is the amazing vintage, easter related items that keep popping up on Etsy. What strikes me the most is how much a bigger, family orientated thing Easter was. It's changed even since i was little. I remember going out to show off my easter bonnet and knowing when i got back there'd be a massive family dinner waiting as well as making my parents hide all my eggs around the house so i could hunt them down. Just doesn't seem like that anymore, it's all a bit ''Woohoo got the day off work, lets eat chocolate.'' So in a nostalgic tribute to how easter used to be here are few of the amazing vintage ''easter'' finds floating around on Etsy at the moment.

EARLY MORNING TEA

I'm going back to work today as i feel a tiny bit better, still not able to lift though! However it's a 7am wake up call and oh my god i've had to crawl straight to the kettle and get myself a large cuppa. I seriously can't function without it. Anyone else the same?

Although i did get dressed first ... unlike Lady Gaga!

YAY A SALE

Just when i was starting to think i might not make another sale on my Etsy for a while. I woke up to a suprise sale of one of my Mappin and Webb handbags. I'm so happy but also sad to part with it. The bags mean a lot to me as i am a descendant of the Mappin family. I only decided to part with them as they've been sat in the wardrobe gathering dust. Not the best place for such lovely bags. I decided I'd rather someone who's going to hopefully show off the bags have them. So in honour of that here's a few of the other vintage handbags on offer around etsy. YOU GOT DESIGNER SHADES JUST TO HIDE YOUR FACE

I knoooow i keep banging on and on about summer but its seriously sunny here in Yorkshire, England so i can't help it. My first etsy sale was a pair of 70's seriously oversized shades. So i thought in aid of all the sun i'd show you some other amazing vintage pairs on Etsy. The good thing about buying a vintage pair and not a ''vintage style'' pair is you're not likely to see anyone else in the same ones. If there's one thing that bugs me about summer it's bumping into another 40 people in the same ''vintage'' Primark sunglasses as the ones you're wearing. Plus with vintage there is never a shortage of styles to choose from. Catseye to aviators. Plus you can buy yourself a gorgeous designer pair for £100's or a just as amazing pair for £10. It all depends on what you're after.



STYLE CRUSH ALERT

Well i'm signed off work with a bad back which has resulted in the most boring 3 days of my life lounging around doing nothing, eating too much food and watching too much television. The only good thing to come out of this is i've discovered a new style crush. Yasmin. The Manchester born 22 year old has an amazing sense of style mixing vintage with retro hip hop. Not easily done. Watch her gorgeous new video 'Finish Line'

SUMMER HEAT, BOY AND GIRL MEET

Okay i know i'm on a bit of summer theme but the sun is out and i can't help it. I love summer WAY more than winter.

Although summers never lives up to my expectations in the end, perhaps because i'm always hopeful they'll look like this ...



and they never really turns out that way.

Yes, boys and girls it is almost (well not quite) festival season. Put it this way if you're going to one you probably have your tickets. ME? Noooo i'm staying home with my filter coffee and private bathroom thankyou very much. That is what BBC iplayer was invented for.

Anyway besides the music the second best thing that comes out of festivals is the fashion. Vintage fashion especially reigns supreme in this environment. By buying vintage too you can guarantee you won't bump into another 100 people wearing the same outfit as you which as i'm told by friends is one of biggest irritants of musical gatherings.

So i've turned to some of my favourite vintage sellers (and me) on Etsy to help me find the perfect festival wardrobe.

Hello and welcome to the first post from It's The Cherry On Top Vintage blog. With this blog i aim to spread the word about all sorts of vintage goings on around the world.

I am fairly new to the vintage world and have just started selling vintage items on Etsy.
